I care about them as people, as much as whites, Asians, Latinos, and every other human being on earth. But I no longer care about the special set of issues that many black people hold so near and dear, and that seem to define them as a group…though thankfully, not as individuals. Exhausted by their constant demands, their neediness, their helplessness, their hypocrisy, their never ending problems, their inability to take advantage of the myriad opportunities practically delivered to them, their ungratefulness, their refusal to take responsibility for their own lives or accept the consequences of their actions. There comes a point, where I just quit listening. I applaud those who are successful, and overcome challenges, and I wish them well. I no longer excuse or rationalize violence, criminality, laziness, indolence, careless babymaking, willful dependency or degeneracy among blacks, any more than I do with whites. Could be the willingness to drop everything to riot, loot, burn and destroy personal and public property, menace, threaten and physically attack innocent white people.

Charles Barkley recently explained why "we as black people are never going to be successful. When you are black, you have to deal with so much crap in your life from other black people," Barkley said. Barkley, a native of Leeds, [Alabama,] said African Americans are too concerned with street cred than true success and that's holding the community back. If you go to school, make good grades, speak intelligent, and don't break the law, you're not a good black person. It's a dirty, dark secret in the black community. It's best to knock a successful black person down because they're intelligent, they speak well, they do well in school, and they're successful. It's just typical BS that goes on when you're black, man. It's worth noting that there isn't much difference between Barkley's claim that "there are a lot black people who are unintelligent" and the claims of a garden-variety racist. I assume that Barkley meant to say something more nuanced. That more charitable analysis, though, is far from a "dirty dark secret.
Top definition. A word that caused numerous school districts to ban the great American novel , The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Teacher: I'd love for you guys to read Huck Finn , but because uneducated people don't understand the context of the so-called N-word , I can't let you. The reason why non-Nigger blacks get offended is because they hate to be associated with their race's "bad apples," not because of whatever slavery-related nonsense that other people confuse it with
